Nexus 5X Pre-Orders Come With Google Play Store Credit

Google Play Gift Cards to come with Nexus 5X PreorderGoogle announced its highly anticipated Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones earlier this month. While most people had expected the Mountain View company to finally confirm the rumors, this was the first official statement regarding the two new handsets.

The Nexus 5X, of course, is the LG-made version that features a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of random access memory, a 12.3-megapixel primary camera, a fingerprint sensor, and 16/32GB of internal storage. The Nexus 6P is the more expensive model of the two. Manufactured by Huawei, it features a similar quad-core Snapdragon processor, along with 3GB or RAM, a larger 5.7-inch display, a 12.3-megapixel camera, and more internal storage options.

So, when can you get your hands on the new Nexus 5X smartphone?

Google recently confirmed that it will begin shipping the Nexus 5 on October 22. Consumers can go ahead and pre-order the Nexus 5X on the Play Store — and Google is actually offering a nice incentive for those who do.

According to various sources, all Nexus 5X units that are pre-orders up until October 22 (the ship date) will come with a free $50 Play Store Credit, as well as a Google Play Music premium membership pass that is good for 90 days. Those are some pretty nice perks considering the Nexus 5X costs just $379 for the 16GB version or $429 for the larger 32GB model. That $50 Play Store credit can be used to purchase new games, apps, music, movies or other digital entertainment for your new Nexus 5X handset. The Play Store is loaded with tens of thousands of apps and even more movies, music and games. So if you are thinking about buying the Nexus 5X, go ahead and pre-order it NOW, because sources say the deal will end on October 22, at which point new orders will no longer receive the $50 credit.

Some people may hold off on buying the Nexus 5X, assuming that Google will eventually lower the price. After all, with the holidays right around the corner, it only makes sense for Google to drop the price on its flagship smartphones in an effort to generate more sales.

However, you have to remember that the Nexus 5X is still new, very new, and therefore it is unlikely that we’ll see a price drop happen this year. If you want to get the best deal possible on the Nexus 5X, you should go ahead and pre-order it from Google Play while the search engine giant is still offering the free $50 Play Store credit. Other retailers and outlets may eventually offer their own deals, but a $50 Play Store credit is huge, and you probably won’t see another deal that’s comparable to it — not for a while, at least.
