When Will The Google Nexus 6 Be Released?

But it looks like Google is gearing up to release a new smartphone, the Nexus 6, in the near future. While speaking at the Mobile Word Congress, Google’s Vice President Sundar Pichai hinted towards an October 2014 release for the Nexus 6.

Both Google and LG have remained quiet regarding the Nexus 6 (with the exception of VP Pichai); however, it would certainly make sense for the Mountain View company to release their new line of Nexus devices around Q4 of this year. The Nexus 5 was released on October 31, 2103 — right before the holiday season. This was almost certainly intentional, as it helped to bolster their sales numbers. If Google decides to release the Nexus 6 around the same time this year, they’ll benefit from the same boost in sales numbers thanks to the holiday season.

What Are The Specs For The Nexus 6?

The specs for the Google Nexus 6 have yet to be officially released, but there some rumors circulating suggesting that type of hardware it will feature. According to reports, it will feature a large 5.2-inch full HD display with a curved LCD screen. The current Google Nexus 5, as most users probably already know, boasts a 4.95-inch display. Bumping it up to 5.2 inches is a bold move that will place it among the ranks of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8).

The upcoming Google Nexus 6 will likely feature a quad-core Snapdragon processor, although we still don’t know which one. Some rumors suggest Google will use the new Snapdragon 801 for faster processing power, while others believe they will use the Snapdragon 800.

So, what type of camera with the new Nexus 6 feature? The current Nexus 5 features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, but rumors suggest Google and LG are taking it up a notch by implementing a massive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera in the Nexus 6.

Do you plan on purchasing the Google Nexus 6? Or will you hang on to your Nexus 5 device for a little while longer?
