Leaked Video Reveals Comparison of iPhone 6 Case and Nexus 5

A recently leaked video has given us some insight into the upcoming Apple iPhone 6 and how it compares to the Google Nexus 5, but there’s a catch: the YouTube video shows what we believe is the case for the iPhone 6, not the actual phone. In any case, this is the first visual example we have of the iPhone 6 being compared to the Nexus 5.

One of the drawbacks to the iPhone 5S is its 4-inch screen. The Google Nexus 5 boasts an impressive 4.95-inch screen, making it nearly 20% larger. Several of the leading smartphone manufacturers have followed the trend of producing larger devices, but Apple continues to lag behind. However, this latest video suggests Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 is larger than its predecessor.

So, just how large is the upcoming iPhone 6? The case depicted in the video (see below) is 4.7 inches — a significant increase in the iPhone 5S’s 4-inch screen. Will this be enough to win over the hearts and minds of loyal Android users? I guess we’ll have to wait and see, as Apple surely has some other tricks up their sleeve for the iPhone 6.

Video: Apple iPhone 6 Case Comparison Video

Check out the roughly 7-minute long video above for a sneak peak at the Apple iPhone 6 case and how it compares to some of the leading smartphones currently on the market, including the Google Nexus 5.

Along with the size comparison of the different smartphones, the video also reveals a new location for the iPhone 6’s sleep/wake button. Rather than leaving the sleep/wake button on the top right, Apple engineers have moved it to the right side of the device.

This is a quick look at what looks like the first 3rd party case for the upcoming iPhone 6 – 4.7-inch (may also come in 5.5-inch variant). This video also compares the speculative iPhone 6 4.7-inch against some popular devices that are already on the market including the iPhone 5s, Nexus 5 and Galaxy Note 3,” wrote the YouTube user Unbox Therapy in the video’s description.

According to rumors circulating across the Internet, Apple plans to release two versions of the iPhone 6: a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch model. The smaller model may ship as early as September, but we probably won’t see the 5.5-inch variant until next year.
